B.I.G. ARTS (Barrier Island
Group For the Arts)
B.I.G. ARTS was established in
1979 as a community organization to promote the arts
on Sanibel. Now in its 26th year, it is
the island’s hub of cultural activity and features
30 concerts annually. A mixture of fun and flair,
the art and music enthusiast will find jazz, pop,
classical and family concerts, along with a variety

Festival History

Marilyn Lauriente,
musician and impresario founded the Sanibel
Music Festival in the 1980’s.

The mission of the
Festival is to present classical music of
the highest standard and to promote the
careers of emerging artists through
performance opportunities.

The Festival presents
seven concerts each "Save March for Music"
season, with piano and chamber music.

Out reach and education
programs include a concert for children at
the Sanibel School.
